Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division are investigating a traffic collision on Nov. 17 in the Los Feliz area in which a motorcyclist was killed.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:50 a.m. in the 4600 block of Los Feliz Blvd. The victim, who police did not identify, was riding a 2009 Kawasaki ZX6R motorcycle westbound in the number one lane when a motorist in a 2012 BMW 328i drove out of a driveway, directly in the path of the motorcyclist. The impact of the collision caused the rider to be launched from his motorcycle and strike the pavement. The rider suffered severe injuries to his head and body and was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the BMW suffered lacerations and complained of shoulder pain, and was also taken by paramedics to a hospital. Police have ruled that drugs or alcohol were not involved.
