Hanukkah at Petrossian
Families or “mishpacha” can celebrate the Hanukkah season with two festive offerings. Executive Chef Giselle Wellman presents a five-course menu filled with traditional items such as potato latke, matzah ball soup, brisket and blintzes. She also is preparing a family-style smoked fish platter and Rainbow trout with mushrooms, kasha, lemon and capers. Dessert is a lemon poppy seed Bundt cake. The Hanukkah dinner tasting menu is served today through December 5, but not on December 1. The price for this special dinner is $75 per person. For patrons wishing to sample a quick bite of Hanukkah flavor, Chef Giselle offers the Tarte aux Pommes de Terre for $18 per person on the Happy Hour menu available Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Accoutrements for the upscale potato latke include smoked salmon, crème fraiche and 20mg of the restaurant’s signature delicacy of Transmontanus caviar 321 N. On Thursday, November 28 from noon to 9 p.m. enjoy a Hanukkah and Thanksgiving buffet at celebrity chef Scott Conant’s Scarpetta. Overlook the lush Beverly Canon Gardens. Begin with West Coast oysters, chilled shrimp, citrus cured salmon or snow crab legs. The buffet includes herb-roasted turkey with the traditional trimmings, leg of lamb, porchetta and prime rib. For those looking for a little Italian fare, Conant’s tomato and basil spaghetti, turkey agnolotti, lasagna and baked ricotta Cavatelli with Napa cabbage, sausage and butternut squash will be served. Crossroads will offer an exclusive four-course menu to celebrate the holiday. Chef Tal Ronnen and his skilled culinary team will showcase autumn’s best ingredients including persimmons, hazelnuts, cranberries, and pumpkin, from the table to the bar. In addition to the special Thanksgiving menu, guests will enjoy seasonal fall cocktails crafted by bartender Jeremy Lake. Crossroads’ Thanksgiving menu will start with cream of celery and parsnip soup. The second course is an arugula salad with shaved persimmons, pomegranate vinaigrette. Next guests will enjoy rosemary and hazelnut scaloppini with cranberry cabernet sauce; mashed potatoes with porcini gravy; classic dressing stuffing – gluten free option available. Sides include Brussels sprouts with pine nuts, currants, maple mustard glaze and sweet potato biscuits. Finish with pumpkin tarts or apple cobbler.
