Artbites

Ray’s & Stark Bar and LACMA are serving the next installment of the Cur-ATE dinner series, beginning on July 8 and July 9 with “Japonism”. LACMA’s renowned collection of Japanese art will be displayed in a special exhibition “Japanese Prints: Hokusai at LACMA”. In conjunction with Artbites (which combine culinary and artistic treasures) founder Maite Gomez-Rejon traces the role of food in a historical and social context in a series of gallery tours. Guests will enjoy a three-course French meal with an Asian flair by Chef Kris Morningstar of Ray’s & Stark Bar following each tour. The exhibition tour begins at 6:30 p.m. Guests will meet at the BP grand entrance on the LACMA campus in front of Ray’s & Stark Bar. Tickets are $90 for LACMA members or $100 for non-members. For 4th of July, Tortilla Republic is serving a Mexican red, white & brunch today through Sunday, July 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Modern dishes include huevos divorciados with poached eggs, tomatillo ranchero sauce, applewood-smoked bacon, black beans, tortilla strips and queso fresco. The TR benedict is on a manchego black pepper scone with poached eggs, chopped applewood-smoked bacon, arugula, classic hollandaise, and cheddar breakfast potatoes. Sweet lovers will want the fresh corn and blueberry pancakes served with whipped salted butter and maple syrup. Celebrity Chef Susan Feniger and Chef Kajsa Alger are serving sangria pitchers for $18 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5 to 10 p.m. This summer libation goes nicely with their limitless small plates for $35 per person. Try Feniger’s kaya toast, barbecue jackfruit bao, pumpkin, cauliflower cannelloni and chicken, bacon and waffle croquettes. Concern Foundation
