Singer Chris Brown has been ordered to complete his community service in relation to the 2009 assault of his singer girlfriend, Rihanna, after failing to provide “credible, competent or verifiable evidence” that he had completed the work, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

On August 25, 2009, Brown was ordered to complete 180 days of community labor and was allowed by the court to do so in his home state of Virginia as part of a five-year probationary sentence for assault. According to court records, he was also to complete a batterer’s program.

In a motion filed recently by Deputy District Attorney Mary Murray, the court was asked to decline to accept Brown’s community labor in Virginia due to what appears to be “significant discrepancies indicating at best sloppy documentation and at worst fraudulent reporting.” After noticing discrepancies in Brown’s documentation, investigators traveled to Virginia to interview officials who may have been involved in his supervisions, finding little to no evidence that Brown had fulfilled his obligations, according to court records.
