A 12-year-old boy who allegedly made prank calls to police that sent officers to Ashton Kutcher’s home and a bank in October was charged on Feb. 7 with making false bomb threats and other counts, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

The juvenile, whose name is being withheld because of his age, is due in Eastlake Juvenile Court on Friday for arraignment on two felony counts each of making false bomb threats and computer intrusion, said Deputy District Attorney Jonathan Fairtlough, the deputy in charge of the Eastlake Juvenile branch.

One prank call, known as “swatting,” occurred on Oct. 3, when LAPD officers were sent to Ashton Kutcher’s Los Angeles home after getting a 911 call that armed men were inside.

The second prank call occurred a week later, when police again responded to a Wells Fargo Bank on Wilshire on Oct. 10 to learn the emergency was bogus.

The case was investigated by LAPD and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
