American Craft Beer Week
Brooke Williamson and Nick Roberts at The Tripel will prepare a four-course tasting menu to be paired with a limited edition of draft Smog City beer. The Playa del Rey restaurant is teaming up with Smog City Brewery for a grand night of big brews and tasty cuisine on May 21. It begins with a 6:30 p.m. cocktail beer hour, followed by a great dinner. From 9 p.m. to closing, guests can order from the a la carte menu to accompany Smog City beers. Obika
Every third Tuesday of the month, in partnership with the North American Sommelier Association, Obika will present a special wine dinner. On May 22, cuisine and wines from the Lazio region of Italy will be featured. Dinner is $38 per person, wine pairings are $15 extra. National Burger Month
25 Degrees at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel is offering numerous gourmet burgers and toppings. Executive Chef Tim Goodell uses beef from Vintage Natural. The beef is without antibiotics and the cows are raised on a 100% vegetarian diet with no hormones. He also prepares turkey, veggie and yellow fin tuna burgers. Afternoon Tea
Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air is offering savory bites, fresh baked sour cherry scones with homemade preserves and sweet treats at afternoon tea. Choose from more than 15 loose-leaf teas and sandwiches, such as a grilled cheese with Gruyere and smoked shallot marmalade and an applewood smoked pork belly. Hollywood Bowl Picnics
Chef and founder, Joachim Splichal, from the Patina Restaurant Group and his team are preparing summer farm-to-table custom picnic dinners for Hollywood Bowl patrons. Choose from four innovative three-course menus with your choice of water, coffee and tea. The individual baskets range from the Classic at $39 to the Premier at $65. In the mood for sushi? Master Sushi Chef Travis Kamiyama will present sushi items and specialty rolls daily. Personal jubako boxes feature salad, a selection of sushi, entrée and fresh strawberries. Large sushi platters are ideal for groups of four to six. Also, at the Bowl is the Rooftop Grill offering steaks and fresh seafood pre-concert meals. Staccato grills burgers and sausages to go with beer and wine. Seasonal “pop-up” taqueria and BBQ tents rotate throughout the season. Sotto Wine Night
Tonight Italian wine authority and Wine Director Jeremy Parzen, Ph.D will speak to guests about new additions to Sotto’s wine list. Chef Zach Pollack and Steve Samson’s summer menu goes nicely with new rosé wines and hard-to-find, earthy red wines. Joy of Sake

Movable Feast
On Sat., May 19 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., sip a libation, while enjoying savory and sweet dishes in support of St. John’s Well Child and Family Center. New Chef at Enoteca Drago
Master Chef and owner, Celestino Drago, selected Garrett Mukogawa as the new Chef de Cuisine for his restaurant. As a graduate from the California School of Culinary Arts Le Cordon Bleu program, Mukogawa is a veteran of some of the top kitchens across the West Coast and Hawaii. New Menu at Haven
Haven Gastropub in Pasadena + Brewery offers a new menu of innovative comfort food fare while showcasing over 150 labels of craft beer, including their house-brewed Hello World Pale Ale and Sosigenes Double IPA. One of the new dishes is a salmon tartare with strawberries, avocado, chive flowers and pumpernickel. The Enchanting Rosé
Go to L’Ermitage Beverly Hills this Fri., May 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., to taste sparkling and still rosé wines from Calif., France, Italy and Spain. Beers and Bikes
Golden Road Brewing, Tony’s Darts Away and Mohawk Bend are having their first annual Bikes, Brunch and Beer charity event on Sat., June 16. The three- stop, 16.8 mile bike ride will raise funds for the Pablove Foundationwhich helps fund pediatric cancer research and improve the quality of life for children living with cancer. Registration opens at 9 a.m. at Tony’s Darts Away. Riders receive a t-shirt and can load up on biscuits with sausage and sage gravy or cheese grits for $3. At 10:30 a.m. the ride kicks off heading east to Golden Road Brewing for a quick $1 half-pint of Golden Road brew break. Next, riders will cruise to the final stop at Mohawk Bend in Echo Park for $6 brunch specials and more beer. Registration is $25. Prizes are awarded throughout the day for achievements, such as “best bike decorations” and “biggest handlebars.” The top fundraisers will receive a 6 pack of Golden Road Brewing beer or brunch at one of the participating gastropubs. 1710 W.
