On April 29, enjoy five extraordinary tasting dinners by six top chefs in Los Angeles. Cooking Class
The Westin Bonaventure is offering a “Cooking on the Edge with Executive Chef Andreas Nieto” on Sat. May 5. The class will feature line caught Baja California halibut and Peruvian mango ceviche with micro cilantro. Also, you will learn how to prepare Niman Ranch chipotle crusted pork chops with julienne chayote and warm tomatillo salsa. Dessert is a caramelized brown sugar “flan de coco” with toasted Pacific coconut sprinkle. This three-course meal is paired with a tasting of Partida Tequilas. Crawfish Boil at Dominick’s
Chef Brandon Boudet is serving his New Orleans inspired dishes May 5 and 19. It begins at 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. Dominick’s brunch menu is also available. Enjoy boiled Louisiana crawfish simmering in salt, garlic and cayenne peppers at $10.99 per pound with beer for $3 or a bottle of Dominick’s red and white wine for $12. Blu Jam Cafe
On May 1, enjoy a selection of French wines with a delicious French tasting menu for $65 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Owner/chef/sommelier Kamil Majer will prepare an Endive salad and potato and leek soup to accompany a risotto with bacon, cream, garlic greens, peas, parsley and Parmesan topped with a fresh poached egg. Each course will be offered with a glass of French wine. The main course is grilled peppercorn tenderloin with crispy potato and cognac cream sauce accompanied with a De Mecard, Bordeaux, 2009.
