Celebrate Tax Season Over

On April 18 at 7 p.m., join author Tracie McMillan for a special four-course prix fixe dinner prepared by Executive Chef Tim Goodell. McMillan will discuss and sign her book about eating well, “The American Way of Eating”. Lago D’Argento Pizzeria
There is a new neighborhood restaurant in Silverlake on Hyperion Blvd. Owner Anat Escher (Barbarella Bar & Kitchen and Bugatta) is serving a classic Neapolitan style pizza with 13 varieties to choose. The vegetarian has braised fennel, caramelized leeks, mushrooms, red onions and sweet basil for $9. Pizza dough, sausages and pastas are made in-house. Stag’s Leap at Napa Valley Grille
Winemaker Nicki Pruss will lead guests on April 16 at 6:30 p.m. with stories on the attention to detail in producing a good bottle of wine. Experience a five-course wine pairing dinner prepared by Executive Chef Taylor Boudreaux. Some of the featured dishes include seared scallops, braised veal short ribs with morel mushroom risotto and parmigiano-reggiano. Each dish is paired with a different Stag’s Leap wine. Degustation Menu at Fig & Olive
A new nightly five-course dinner is available for $72 per person. The items are seasonal off-the-menu dishes not found on the regular menu. This month, the menu features grilled Santa Barbara spot prawns or truffle risotto. Lobster and rock shrimp ravioli and crusted Parmesan lamb rack are some of the savory dishes. The fifth course is an assortment of four bite-size desserts including chocolate pot de crème, strawberry crostini, frozen raspberry meringue and warm marzipan cake. The Tripel and The Bruery team up in Playa del Rey on April 16 from 6:30 p.m. for a “cocktail-beer” gathering with Ben Weiss from The Bruery guiding guests with tastes of craft beers. A four-course dinner begins at 7 p.m. Dishes include a coconut and lime leaf bouillabaisse with bourbon shrimp toasts and duck breast with black soybean and trumpet mushroom sauce.
