Ellen “Foreclosure Stopper” Sturtz was on the prowl on Thursday, when Los Angeles residents joined Women Occupy in protesting Bank of America across the U.S. on International Women’s Day.
Approximately 15 men, women and children — many dressed in capes, wigs and other hero or (s)hero attire — protested outside the Bank of America location in Beverly Hills before a second protest was held in Los Feliz.
Sturtz said the protest was to raise awareness about the disproportionally adverse effect the recession, specifically the “mortgage debacle,” has had on women. She said Bank of America has more foreclosures than any corporate bank in the U.S.
