A Commerce man accused of stalking actress Halle Berry pleaded no contest on Jan. 19, the District Attorney’s Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Wendy Segall said Richard Anthony Franco, 28, pleaded to one count of stalking before Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Dennis Landin.

Franco was sentenced to five years of probation, 386 days in county jail and one-year in psychological counseling. A 10-year criminal protective order also was imposed.

Franco, who was in custody for 193 days, received credit for the entirety of his county jail term. Therefore, he was sentenced to time served and will not serve any additional time in county jail.
