Los Angeles Police Department detectives are searching for possible victims of an alleged sexual predator who lured at least one young girl into his car in the Venice area.
On Nov. 29 around 3:35 p.m., a teenage girl was standing outside of a school in the 600 block of 5th Ave. when a man drove up in a silver, two-door 2002 Mercedes Benz CL 55, with paper plates.
The 33-year-old driver, who was later identified as Los Angeles resident Shota Mgeladze, used a ruse to get the victim to enter his car, and once inside, made sexual advances. Mgeladze allegedly drove the victim around and asked if he could take nude photographs of her. When the suspect abruptly pulled over and grabbed the victim’s left leg, she kicked him in the face and shoulder, got out of the car and ran away.
Later that same day, officers from Pacific Division arrested suspect Mgeladze, described as being Caucasian with brown hair and brown eyes, approximately six-feet-five-inches tall and around 210 pounds. He has been charged with kidnapping for sexual motive, and police believe there may be additional victims.
