Two suspects were arrested on May 12 for allegedly robbing a victim in West Hollywood the previous night.
The robbery occurred around 11:10 p.m. on May 11 near the corner of Fountain and Fairfax Avenues. Two suspects allegedly pulled up in a dark colored Cadillac, and one suspect jumped out of the car and robbed a victim who was on foot at gunpoint. The suspects then drove away, but witnesses obtained the vehicle’s license plate number and provided it to police.
Deputies from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station searched the area for the suspects, and determined that the vehicle was registered to an address in South Los Angeles. West Hollywood officials notified deputies in that area, who waited outside the address, and a few hours later, witnessed the vehicle pull into the driveway. Two men got out of the vehicle and were immediately taken into custody.
Detectives from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station later obtained a search warrant for the suspects’ separate residences, and recovered three handguns and property belonging to the victim in the West Hollywood robbery. The suspects were identified as Tyrone Bell, 57, and Shelton Murray, 25. Both suspects have been charged with robbery and are being held on $100,000 bail.
