Los Angeles Police Department officials served a search warrant at an apartment in East Hollywood on May 22 and arrested one suspect for the assault on a fan outside Dodger Stadium on opening day.

Giovanni Ramirez, 31, was taken into custody at an apartment in the 800 block of N. Mariposa Ave., and remains in custody on a parole hold while the investigation continues. Prosecutors met with detectives Tuesday, and are awaiting the outcome of the investigation before filing formal charges. The address on Mariposa Avenue where Ramirez was staying is allegedly different from the one listed with parole agents, a violation of his parole for previous convictions on robbery and weapons charges.

Police are also still searching for a second suspect in the attack on Giants fan, Bryan Stow, who remains in critical condition, as well as a female accomplice who allegedly drove the two suspects away from the stadium.

Last week, Ramirez’ parole agent contacted LAPD investigators with information that led to the arrest. The agent had seen police sketches of the two suspects and recognized that one sketch bore a strong resemblance to Ramirez. Police later determined Ramirez was staying for the past several weeks at the apartment on Mariposa Avenue.

Since the March 31 attack on 42-year-old Stow, the LAPD has received more than 630 leads from law enforcement and the community. Stow’s family filed a lawsuit against the Dodgers on Tuesday, alleging that insufficient security was present at the game to prevent violent attacks like the one that injured Stow.

The suspects were last seen leaving Parking Lot 2 at Dodger Stadium in a light or white four-door sedan. It is believed the female accomplice was wearing a white Andre Ethier Dodgers jersey.  A $250,000 reward is being offered.
