Assembly Member Mike Feuer (D-Los Angeles) is hosting a Community Job and Resource Fair on Friday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Woman’s Club of Hollywood, 1749 N. La Brea Ave.
The free event is open to the public, and is co-sponsored by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce, CCD/Wilshire Metro Worksource and the Woman’s Club of Hollywood.
Although the economy is slowly recovering, far too many Californians are either unemployed or underemployed, according to Feuer. The job fair will begin with a panel discussion led by Feuer from 9 to 10 a.m. about jobs and the economy. Participants will then have an opportunity to meet with companies looking to fill full-time, part-time and apprenticeship positions. Candidates of all ages, experience levels, and from all industries, are encouraged to attend.
The participating employers include Alta Med Health Services, Apple One Employment, The Art Institutes, AT&T, Inc., California Credit Union, Career Development Institute, Inc. & Creative Family Care, Carpet Genie, ChildCare Careers, Children’s Bureau, and City Year Los Angeles. Other participants will include Jewish Family Service (JFS), the L.A. County Department of Public Health’s Environmental Health Division, the L.A. County Registrar Recorder/County Clerk’s Office, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), the State of California Personnel Board, Vons, Walgreens, Wells Fargo, the Youth Policy Institute (YPI), and many others.
