A 73-year-old Los Angeles resident was killed on April 14 when he was struck by a bus as he crossed Washington Boulevard outside of the unmarked crosswalk. Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department’s West traffic Division are investigating the collision.
The incident occurred around 1:40 p.m., as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) bus was traveling southbound on Apple Street and making a right turn to westbound Washington Boulevard. Los Angeles Fire Department personnel pronounced the unidentified victim dead at scene.
The bus driver was interviewed and released. Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact detectives at (213)473-0234.
