A 30-year-old man died on April 22, three days after being shot multiple times while parked in front of a medical marijuana clinic.

Daniel Orona and three friends were sitting inside the victim’s van, which was parked in front of a medical marijuana clinic located in the 5400 block of Valley Boulevard on April 19. The four men in the van were approached by a lone suspect described as an African American male, who opened fire. Orona was struck multiple times before he managed to drive a short distance away. None of the other passengers were injured.

Orona underwent emergency surgery but succumbed to his injuries and died.

Investigators believe the shooting was gang-related and anyone with information is urged to call Detectives Garcia or Alfaro at (323)342-8956.
