Michael Lohan, the father of actress Lindsay Lohan, was arrested in West Hollywood on March 21 for being involved in a domestic violence incident with his girlfriend.
The incident involving Lohan, 50, reportedly occurred at his apartment at 8530 Holloway Ave. According to Lt. Lawrence Del Mese, with the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, deputies received a call around 11 p.m. from Lohan’s girlfriend, who was not identified by police, but in media reports was identified as Kate Major. Del Mese said minutes later, Lohan called the sheriff’s station to report the incident. He had left his apartment and was reportedly walking to the station. Deputies located Lohan in the 8800 block of Santa Monica Boulevard and took him into custody.
Del Mese said Lohan was suffering from an undisclosed medical condition unrelated to the domestic violence incident, and asked for treatment when he was arrested. He was taken by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and released around 4:30 p.m. Del Mese would not release details of the crime, and added that Lohan’s girlfriend had suffered minor injuries, but refused treatment from paramedics.
On Tuesday, Lohan was charged with one misdemeanor count of inflicting injury on a cohabitant. He was cited and released on $30,000 bail, and is scheduled to appear in Beverly Hills Court on May 23 for an arraignment.
