A 33-year-old Los Angeles resident has been charged with robbery and kidnapping in connection with an incident that occurred on Jan. 11 in the area patrolled by the LAPD’s Wilshire Division.
The suspect, Elon Williams, is accused of briefly kidnapping and robbing a female victim who parked in a dimly lit, covered parking garage located to the rear of her apartment complex near Pico Boulevard and Bronson Avenue. The suspect allegedly approached the victim from behind, covered her mouth and immediately entered her vehicle. The woman believed the suspect had a gun.
The suspect forced her to drive to an ATM and withdraw money, and then directed her to drop him off near Normandie Boulevard and 30th Street.
Williams had been arrested by the Culver City Police Department for a different robbery, and has been in custody since shortly after the Jan. 11 incident. The charges against the suspect also include a robbery that occurred within the LAPD’s Pacific Division’s jurisdiction. Williams is currently being held without bail in the Los Angeles County Jail.
