Councilmember Tom LaBonge, 4th District, asked the Los Angeles City Council on Feb. 9 to approve a $50,000 reward in the Nov. 18 murder of Jong Kim, a resident of North Hollywood.
Kim owned a business in Lawndale and was fatally shot as he returned to his home at 10657 Chiquita St. LAPD detectives ruled out robbery as a motive since Kim had $3,000 in his pocket after he was shot.
Police also released photos of the vehicle used by the suspect or suspects responsible for the shooting.
