Police are seeking the public’s help in locating the drivers involved with two hit and run cases.
On Nov. 28, the driver of a Chevrolet Suburban struck a victim at 5th Avenue and 9th Street on Nov. 28. The 18-year-old victim, who was attempting to cross the street when he was struck, remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. as the suspect was making a right turn on to 9th Street from 5th Avenue. The Suburban is described as being a dark-colored, 1990s model with the rear driver’s side window missing.
On Dec. 29, a 48-year-old female victim was struck and killed in a hit and run collision near Culver Boulevard and Pershing Drive, and investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division are searching for the driver.
Los Angeles resident Brigitte Burdine was struck around 1:45 a.m. by a dark-colored sedan traveling east on Culver Boulevard. Burdine was also walking east on Culver Boulevard when she was struck. The suspect fled the scene without rendering help or providing information, as required by law. Burdine was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she later died. Investigators believe the vehicle involved has front-end damage, but there is no other information available.
