Los Angeles Police Department detectives are looking for a suspect who assaulted a transgender woman on Oct. 4.
At approximately 1 a.m., officers were summoned to La Brea Avenue, just north of Melrose Avenue, where a Hispanic female victim had been viciously attacked. An unknown suspect knocked the victim to the ground, kicked her in the face and struck her in the head with a bottle. Among the victim’s injuries was a broken jaw. Additional suspects may also have participated in the attack, according to police.
Immediately after the assault, the suspects left the victim lying on the street and ran from the location and entered what witnesses described as a 2000 or later model white Chevrolet Suburban. The primary suspect is described only as a Hispanic man in his 20s, about five feet six inches tall.
