The Los Angeles Police Department is searching for a serial robbery suspect who robbed pedestrians, two markets and attempted to rob a third market at gunpoint.
On March 21, at 4:00pm, a suspect entered a liquor store located in the 400 block of South Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach. He brandished a handgun and demanded money, but did not receive any cash. After the attempted robbery, a second possible suspect was seen, driving a blue Dodge pickup truck away from the liquor store.
On the same day, at around 4:50pm, two women were walking in the area of 34th Street and Palm Drive in Hermosa Beach. The suspect, matching the same description, pointed a handgun at the women and robbed them of an undisclosed amount of money.
Later that evening, at around 7:30pm, the same suspect traveled north to Los Angeles, and committed a robbery at gunpoint at a local market, located in the 1200 block of Bellevue Avenue.
The final robbery occurred at 8:10pm at another neighborhood market, located in the 3900 block of Figueroa Street, in the Highland Park area.
The primary suspect is described as a male Hispanic, black hair, brown eyes, 19-21 years old, five-feet-four-inches tall, and approximately 135 pounds, with a goatee. The clothing was consistent in all the crimes, a dark blue or black beanie, sunglasses, white Raiders sweatshirt with black trim, blue jeans and white shoes.
The second suspect, seen only at the Redondo Beach attempt robbery, was described as a male Hispanic, brown hair, five-feet-eight-inches tall, 160 pounds, with a thin build. The possible vehicle was the blue Dodge pickup truck.
