The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a burglary at the Four Seasons Hotel that they believe may be connected to the buglaries of hotels in downtown Los Angeles.
On March 5, an unknown suspect posed as a hotel employee and entered a Four Seasons Hotel guest room in the 300 block of South Doheny Drive in LAPD’s Wilshire Area where he took jewelry, valued at $40,000, from a wealthy couple who were in town for the Academy Awards Ceremony.
Security video captured the suspect on the hotel’s elevator prior to the crime, and the LAPD has released the surveillance still photo to alert other hotels of the suspect’s criminal activity and to urge them to take every precaution.
The investigation is in the preliminary stages, and at this time they are uncertain if the suspect is the same one linked to several downtown hotel theft cases from last year.
Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact LAPD Commercial Crimes Division, Burglary Special Section detectives at (213)486-6947.
