Temple Beth El hosts High Holy Days services
Hollywood Temple Beth El is holding High Holy Days services later this month, bringing loved ones and friends together for services.

The temple on Crescent Heights Boulevard welcomes everyone for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Rabbi Norbert Weinberg and Rabbi Steven Rosenberg will conduct the services, which also feature cantorial soloist Bryce Megdal.
Rosh Hashanah Eve services begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, followed by Rosh Hashanah Day One services on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. and Rosh Hashanah Day Two services on Friday, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m.
Yom Kippur Kol Nidre services begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, and Yom Kippur Day services begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, with Yizkor services approximately at noon. Traditional Shacharit services begin at 9 a.m. on Sept. 21, 22 and 29.

Cantor Estherleon Schwartz joins High Holy Days services
Cantor Estherleon Schwartz, a childhood survivor of the Holocaust, is inviting the community to High Holy Days services with Temple Beth Shirah at the Matrix Theatre on Melrose Avenue.
Schwartz said the High Hollywood Days are a time for meditation and spiritual preparation.
“This is your special time to be aware more than ever [about] the miracles that surround you,” Schwartz said. “You are part of everything and everything is part of you. You are covered from darkness to light, and from light to darkness … it was written long ago when God created the world for you and gave his word.”
Rosh Hashanah Eve services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m., followed by Rosh Hashanah Day services on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. Yom Kippur Eve services are on Friday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m., followed by Yom Kippur services on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 10 a.m.

Join Temple Beth Zion for High Holy Days observances
Temple Beth Zion is preparing for High Holy Days services later in September, which will be led by Rabbi Moshe Halfon.
Halfon has been working with Temple Beth Zion’s choir director Dr. Jim Reitzell for the services. The rabbi travels frequently and has led services in Kauai, Hawaii and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Temple Beth Zion will hold a Selichot Service on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 10:30 to 11:30 p.m. The service will be preceded by refreshments in the temple’s social hall from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Erev Rosh Hashanah will be observed on Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 6:30 to 9 p.m., followed by Rosh Hashanah Day One services on Thursday, Sept. 21 from 9:30 am-1:30 p.m. and Rosh Hashanah, Day Two services on Friday, Sept. 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A Shabbat Shuvah Service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 9:30 a.m. to noon, followed by a Kol Nidre service on Friday, Sept. 29 from 6:30 p.m. to noon. Yom Kippur is observed on Saturday, Sept. 30 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and a Yiskor Service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30 at approximately 11:30 a.m.
